If you’re new to rowing or looking to get back on the water, our Int-Row Program introduces the basics of rowing, along with essential safety skills and knowledge. It’s a great way to build confidence on the water and prepare to become a regular member of the club.

Our Int-Row sessions introduce rowing basics and safety in one day. Sessions are informative and mandatory for anyone who wishes to start rowing regularly with a club.
What You’ll Learn:
Our experienced coaches and boat captains will guide you through each step, helping you build confidence, develop your skills, and become comfortable on the water. Visit our Calendar for the latest Int-Row session dates.

The BRA’s goal is to get on the water as much as possible, but safety is always our first priority.
All rowing activities are subject to weather and water conditions. During the winter months, storms, strong winds, swells, and colder water temperatures may affect training and lead to changes or cancellations.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 through November 30. During this period, the BRA may temporarily close the boathouse and suspend activities when it is necessary to prepare for a storm to protect equipment and facilities.
The BRA will always prioritise the safety of our rowers, coaches, boat captains, and equipment when making decisions about whether conditions are suitable for rowing.

For your safety, you should be comfortable swimming at least 150 metres while wearing your rowing kit before participating in on-water sessions.
As with any sport, it’s important to consider your own health and fitness before taking part in rowing activities. If you have any health concerns or are unsure whether rowing is suitable for you, we recommend seeking advice from a medical professional.
By participating in our rowing programmes and activities, you acknowledge that you are responsible for considering your own health and wellbeing and for informing our coaches of any relevant concerns that may affect your participation.

We recommend bringing the following:
Prior to your session, please ensure you have returned the Waiver to the BRA Email.
Please note: Participants are responsible for their personal belongings and valuables brought to the sessions. The BRA cannot accept responsibility for any loss of or damage to personal items.

Once you’ve completed the Int-Row Program and our coaches are confident in your ability to participate safely, you’ll have the opportunity to join our Masters training sessions.
Masters training typically takes place four times a week. Weekday training times will vary depending on the season:
You’re welcome to attend as often as your schedule allows.

The BRA is about more than time on the water, it’s about being part of a friendly and welcoming community.
From post-row breakfasts to social events and club gatherings, there are plenty of opportunities to meet fellow rowers, make new friends and enjoy time together both on and off the water.
Whether you’re joining us for a row, or coming along to a social event, there’s always a chance to connect and be part of the BRA community.
